This Cookie Policy explains how Kora uses cookies, local storage, session storage, and similar browser-side technologies across the marketing site, workspace app, and field app.

1. Overview
Kora uses a limited set of browser-side technologies to keep the Service secure, maintain signed-in sessions, support offline and mobile-friendly workflows, remember interface preferences, and measure aggregate service quality.
This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. If there is a difference between this Policy and a signed enterprise agreement, the signed agreement controls for that Customer.
In particular, the Privacy Policy explains how personal data connected to these technologies is handled, while the Terms of Service explain the access, security, and service conditions that depend on them.
2. Essential Cookies & Session Technologies
Kora uses strictly necessary cookies and session technologies that are required for the Service to function. These support authentication, session refresh, secure route protection, password recovery, and fraud-prevention controls.
2.1 What these technologies support
- Keeping authorised users signed in to the web apps.
- Refreshing or ending secure sessions appropriately.
- Protecting sensitive routes and account actions.
- Supporting sign-in, password reset, and account verification flows.
- Applying abuse prevention and request integrity checks where needed.
2.2 Why they are required
Because these technologies are essential to authentication and security, blocking them entirely may prevent access to the Service or cause sign-in failures, broken redirects, or unexpected session expiry.
3. Local Storage, Session Storage, and Device-Side State
Kora stores some settings directly on your device through `localStorage` or `sessionStorage`. This helps the product behave consistently between visits and on unstable mobile connections.
3.1 Examples of device-side state
- Theme and display preferences.
- Sidebar and navigation preferences.
- Onboarding, tour, and "what's new" acknowledgement flags.
- Draft form data and PWA install prompt state.
- Cookie notice acknowledgement state.
- Queued field actions awaiting reconnection in offline or low-connectivity conditions.
3.2 How this data is used
Most of this state remains on your device and is used only to improve your in-product experience. Some queued offline actions are later transmitted to Kora once connectivity returns so the action can complete on the platform.
4. Privacy-Friendly Analytics & Performance Monitoring
Kora uses privacy-friendly analytics and performance tooling to understand aggregate traffic, feature usage, and web performance in the deployed web experience.
4.1 What we measure
- Page visits and high-level route usage.
- Browser, device type, and general performance characteristics.
- Core web vitals and related performance measurements.
- Aggregate interaction and stability signals used to improve the service.
4.2 What we do not use
- Advertising cookies.
- Cross-site tracking cookies.
- Third-party retargeting pixels.
- Behavioural advertising profiles tied to fleet users.
5. Your Browser Choices
You can clear or block cookies and browser storage through your browser settings. However, doing so may affect sign-in, offline queue recovery, draft persistence, and other core Service functions.
5.1 Practical effects of blocking storage
- You may be signed out more often or be unable to complete authentication.
- Saved preferences and draft entries may be lost.
- Queued field actions may not persist on the device during poor connectivity.
- PWA install state and notice acknowledgements may reset.
6. Updates & Contact
We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect product changes, operational needs, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date shown above and publish the revised version at /cookie-policy.
